Departmental Security Branch

The Departmental Security Branch (DSB) leads the RCMP national departmental security program and supports RCMP operations by providing measures which ensure the integrity of its sensitive business and policing resources (employees, facilities and information). In addition to supporting RCMP departmental security, DSB is the Lead Security Agency on physical security for the Government of Canada.

As the national policy centre on departmental security for the RCMP, DSB works closely with RCMP divisions to provide direction and business planning relative to:

• personnel security screening;
• physical security;
• information systems security;
• communications security; and
• security awareness and security incident management.
