RCMP Traffic Services East partnered with RNC Traffic Services on the Trans-Canada Highway (TCH) on two recent afternoons.

On the afternoons of Friday, June 25, 2021 and Tuesday, June 29, 2021, officers issued a total of nearly 70 tickets and impounded nine vehicles between Butter Pot Park and Paddy's Pond area of the TCH.

Eight drivers were traveling at excessive speeds of more than 51 km/hr above the posted speed limit. They were given $520.00 tickets, their driver's licenses were suspended, and their vehicles were seized and impounded.

With the improved weather conditions that summer brings, RCMP Traffic Services has noticed that many motorists are travelling at increased speeds on roadways throughout the province. RCMP NL remains committed to road safety and continues the enforcement of aggressive drivers.
