Montréal, Quebec

News release

On July 19th, a charge of breach of trust by a public officer was laid against Manuelle Duranceau-Lapointe, 29 years old. Following an investigation by our police officers from the Corruption Investigation Unit, it was established that Duranceau-Lapointe had provided a suspected pimp with confidential and sensitive information obtained while carrying out her border services officer duties at Montréal-Trudeau International Airport.

The investigation began on August 8, 2018, after the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM)'s integrated procuring team (EILP) informed our investigators that Duranceau-Lapointe had sent the primary subject of their investigation a lookout notice in his name. Duranceau-Lapointe also allegedly intervened with customs officials involved in the seizure of the same individual's telephone in May 2018.

Manuelle Duranceau-Lapointe will appear at the Montreal courthouse on September 17.
