At the Attorney General's Excellence in Law Enforcement Awards gala on November 22, 2018, six Manitoba RCMP police officers were honoured for service to their communities and their dedication to public safety and policing. The event is hosted annually by the Manitoba Association of Chiefs of Police. Each member was presented with an Excellence in Law Enforcement Award from Minister of Justice and Attorney General Cliff Cullen, for work throughout their careers.
"Congratulations to all six officers for their outstanding service to all Manitobans," said Scott Kolody, Assistant Commissioner of the Manitoba RCMP.
The awarded officers have made significant contributions to policing in the province in addition to serving the communities in which they work and live. They were recognized for their various efforts to policing and commitment to community partnerships in Manitoba, including:
- the resolution of numerous high-profile cases that took dangerous criminals off our streets;
- numerous volunteer efforts organizing events within their local communities;
- providing mentorship and role-modelling to youth as well as being engaged in the community and providing leadership;
- creating, modernizing and advancing internal RCMP programs, such as the Critical Incident Program (CIP), the Emergency Response Team (ERT) and the National Weapons Enforcement Support Team (NWEST);
- organizing and implementing vital police training programs;
- and enormous contributions to front line policing and public safety.
We are very pleased and fortunate to have these officers serving as part of the RCMP in Manitoba, and we look forward to their continued efforts towards keeping all Manitobans safe.
