Pictou District RCMP is pleased to announce Staff Sergeant Addie Maccallum as the new District Commander for Pictou County RCMP, which includes Pictou County, the town of Pictou and Pictou Landing First Nation.
S/Sgt. Maccallum joined the RCMP in 1996 from his home province of Prince Edward Island and has worked in many roles during his 21-year career in the RCMP including General Duty, Community Policing, General Investigation Section and Street Crime Enforcement. Addie was first posted to Kelowna, BC, and after seven years he was transferred to Nova Scotia, where he worked in Caledonia, Bible Hill and Guysborough. He transferred to Pictou District in August 2017.
As District Commander, S/Sgt. Maccallum is committed to working with the communities within Pictou District to identify and implement local policing priorities. He plans to work closely with the many service providers in Pictou County, as well as Municipal Councils, and the Band Chief, Council, Elders and youth to focus on building and maintaining partnerships, in the pursuit of keeping our communities safe.
