On November 25, 2024, at approximately 3:10 pm, Stonewall RCMP received a report of a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Highway 7 and Road 73 N, located south of Stony Mountain.
Officers arrived on scene and observed that a collision had taken place between a gravel truck and a sanding truck.
The investigation conducted on scene has determined that a sanding truck, travelling westbound on Road 73 N, entered the intersection and collided with the southbound gravel truck.
The gravel truck, being driven by a 45-year-old male from Winnipeg, entered the ditch and rolled. The driver was pronounced deceased on scene.
The 29-year-old male driver of the sanding truck, from the RM of West St Paul, was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Stonewall RCMP, along with a Forensic Collision Reconstructionist, continue to investigate.
