RCMP find lost woman using drone

November 12, 2024 – King's District, PEI

On November 9th, 2024, at approximately 10:44 a.m., a man reported to King's District RCMP that his wife became disoriented in a wooded area after she went looking for her lost dog. Using a drone, RCMP were able to quickly find and guide the woman and her dog back to safety.

The drone's advanced aerial capabilities allowed officers to efficiently survey the terrain from above.

The quick success of this incident highlights the critical role that modern tools, such as drones, play in aiding search incidents. In this case, it brought about a quick resolution to an incident that might have required many more resources.
