Prince Albert CRT seize drugs during search warrant at residence in Melfort

On August 29, 2024, Saskatchewan RCMP's Prince Albert Crime Reduction Team (CRT) and Melfort RCMP executed a search warrant at a residence on Burns Avenue in Melfort, SK as part of an ongoing drug trafficking investigation.

When officers arrived on scene, an adult male was located and arrested at the residence.

During subsequent investigation, officers located and seized small amounts of cocaine and methamphetamine, a sum of cash, and drug trafficking paraphernalia at the residence.

As a result of continued investigation, 36-year-old Bret Markowski from Melfort, SK is charged with:

  • one count, possession for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine, Section 5(2), Controlled Drugs and Substances Act;
  • one count, possession for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine, Section 5(2), Controlled Drugs and Substances Act; and
  • one count, possession of property obtained by crime less than $5000, Section 354(1)(a), Criminal Code.

Bret Markowski is scheduled to appear in Melfort Provincial Court on November 4, 2024.
