On August 11, 2024, at approximately 6:15 pm Powerview RCMP received a report of a missing 53-year-old male from Sagkeeng First Nation.
It was reported the male had not been seen since 8:30 am on August 10, 2024, when he left his residence on his ATV.
On August 12, 2024, RCMP Search and Rescue, the Sagkeeng Fire Department and community members, began searching the area. That evening at approximately 7:20 pm, local searchers located the body of the missing person just off Highway 12, near Cat Fish Creek, on Sagkeeng First Nation. He had been involved in a fatal ATV collision.
RCMP continue to investigate.
