RCMP stopped 24 impaired drivers in June; this includes impaired drivers by alcohol (12), drug (9), alcohol and drug (1) and those who refuse a police test demand (2). Note that many of these cases are awaiting blood sample results prior to charges being laid. The total arrests by RCMP so far in 2024 now stands at 130, last year RCMP in PEI made over 230 impaired driving arrests. "If you see an impaired driver, don't hesitate call 911, your call could make a difference" says Cpl Gavin Moore the PEI RCMP Media Relations Officer.
