PEI RCMP stop 17 impaired drivers in May
RCMP stopped 17 impaired drivers in May; this includes impaired drivers by alcohol (10), cannabis (6) and those who refuse a police test demand (1). Note that many of these cases are awaiting blood sample results prior to charges being laid. The total arrests by RCMP so far in 2024 now stands at 106, last year RCMP in PEI made over 230 impaired driving arrests. "If you plan on using alcohol or drugs, plan on getting a sober ride," says Cpl Gavin Moore the PEI RCMP Media Relations Officer.
