Man arrested by Deer Lake RCMP for residential break and enter and assault with weapon

Following the report of a residential break and enter that took place on November 4, 2024, 41-year-old Jason Deering was arrested and charged by Deer Lake RCMP.

At approximately 6:45 a.m. on Monday, police responded to the report of a residential break and enter that occurred at an apartment complex on Sixth Avenue in Deer Lake. A tenant, who heard noise coming from a neighbouring apartment and went to check on the property, was assaulted with a weapon by the accused. The victim received non-life-threatening injuries.

Jason Deering was arrested a short time later at a home on Williams Avenue in Deer Lake. He is charged with break and enter with intent and assault with a weapon. He is set to appear in court at a later date.

The investigation is continuing.
