Kings District RCMP investigates serious collision

Kings District RCMP is investigating a serious collision that occurred in Prospect.

Yesterday, at approximately 11:10 a.m., Kings District RCMP, fire services and EHS, responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision on Prospect Rd. RCMP officers learned that a Volkswagen Passat and a dump truck were travelling in opposite directions when they collided.

The driver and lone occupant of the Volkswagen, a 54-year-old Kentville man, suffered serious injuries. He was first transported by EHS to LifeFlight and then airlifted to hospital.

The driver and lone occupant of the dump truck, a 63-year-old Coldbrook man, did not suffer physical injuries.

Prospect Rd. was closed for several hours but has since reopened.

The investigation is ongoing.
