Hay River, NT, July 9th, 2024
On July 8th, 2024, Hay River RCMP received a report that a person had been struck by a vehicle on Woodland Drive in Hay River and that the vehicle had fled the scene. The victim sustained what were described as serious injuries and was taken to hospital.
Officers located the suspect and took him into custody without incident. Investigation revealed the accused and victim were known to each other and engaged in an altercation prior to the collision. There is not believed to be a risk to the general public.
An update will be provided when further information is available.
