On August 9th, 2024 at 7:18 AM, the Hay River RCMP Detachment was dispatched to a disturbance at a residence on Woodland Drive in Hay River, within an area locally known as Rowe's trailer court. As police attended, an update was received that there was now a fire at that residence.
The initial investigation has determined a fight between individuals precipitated the fire. One person was transported from the residence with minor injuries. The residence is a total loss and destroyed.
The Hay River RCMP detachment continues to investigate the disturbance and the fire with assistance and support from the "G" Division Forensic Identification Section and the Office of the Fire Marshal.
