Fort Qu’Appelle RCMP: youth male arrested after break-in and vandalism

On October 28, 2024 at approximately 5:30 a.m., Fort Qu'Appelle RCMP received a report of a break and enter at a residence in the RM of North Qu'Appelle, SK. Following the initial report, Fort Qu'Appelle RCMP received several subsequent calls about break-ins and vandalism in the area.

Investigation determined on the evening of October 27, an unknown male broke into a residence in the RM of North Qu'Appelle, SK and vandalised multiple other houses and vehicles in the area. The male was armed with a weapon that resembled a firearm. No injuries were reported to police.

As a result of continued investigation, officers located and arrested a male youth in Lipton, SK.

The male youth is charged with:

  • 15 counts, mischief under $5000, Section 430(4), Criminal Code;
  • one count, break and enter, Section 348(1)(b), Criminal Code;
  • one count, theft over $5000, Section 344(b), Criminal Code;
  • one count, using an imitation firearm in an offence, Section 85(2)(b), Criminal Code;
  • one count, wearing a mask while committing an indictable offence, Section 351(2), Criminal Code; and
  • one count, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, Section 88, Criminal Code.

We are unable to identify the youth male as per the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

The male youth is scheduled to appear in court in Fort Qu'Appelle on December 2, 2024.
