Update - Chemawawin RCMP looking for man involved in serious assault

Jeremy Lachose arrested

Jeremy Lachose was arrested. The RCMP thanks the public and the media for their assistance.


On July 16, 2024, at approximately 3:30 pm, Chemawawin RCMP were informed of an adult female at the Nursing Station with severe injuries from an assault that had occurred at a residence in Chemawawin Cree Nation. The female was transported to Winnipeg hospital where she remains.

RCMP began an investigation immediately and determined that 26-year-old Jeremy Lachose was involved in the assault. Police did patrols and searched the area for him, but he has not yet been located. There is a warrant for his arrest for the following charges:

  • Aggravated Assault x2
  • Assault with a Weapon x2
  • Assault Causing Bodily Harm
  • Assault While Choking
  • Assault
  • Uttering Threats Against a Person x2
  • Forcible Confinement

It is believed that Lachose remains in Chemawawin Cree Nation. He is described as having a neck tattoo with flowers and a cross. If seen, do not approach. Call police immediately.
