Bay St. George RCMP ticketed two drivers and seized their vehicles yesterday under the Highway Traffic Act.

Just before 2:00 p.m. on March 4, police noticed a vehicle pulling into a business that had a smashed window. Police approached the driver, who was found to be driving without insurance. A 20-year-old woman was ticketed and her vehicle was seized and impounded.

Later that afternoon, around 3:30 p.m., police determined via radar that a 72-year-old man was travelling at 147 km/hr in a 60 km/hr zone. The driver was ticketed, his license was suspended and his vehicle was seized and impounded.

RCMP NL reminds all drivers that road safety is everyone's responsibility. There is no need to speed.
