On Aug. 30, 2024, Rocky Mountain House RCMP received a report of a body in a field. RCMP attended and located a deceased person in the field with injuries. The deceased has been identified as a 21-year-old male resident of O'Chiese First Nation. The deceased has been transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, and the death has been deemed as a homicide.
The Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit has been deployed and taken over the investigation.
