Police have arrested a 52-year-old man from Saint-Maure, N.B., following a drug trafficking investigation in Campbellton, N.B.

In June 2023, members of the Provincial Crime Reduction Unit (PCRU) began an investigation into the trafficking of illegal drugs in the Campbellton region.

On November 29, 2024, at approximately 10:06 a.m., PCRU members, with assistance from members of the New Brunswick RCMP's Northeast Crime Reduction Unit, New Brunswick's Integrated Enforcement Unit (IEU), and Justice and Public Safety arrested a 52-year-old man on Avenue des Pionniers in Balmoral in connection with the investigation.

Subsequent to the arrest, police searched the man and his vehicle and seized quantities of what is believed to be cocaine, and cash. The man's cell phone and vehicle were also seized as part of the investigation.

At the same time, a search warrant was executed at the 52-year-old man's residence on chemin Saint-Maure, in Saint-Maure. The search at the residence resulted in the seizure of firearms, ammunition, drug paraphernalia, and the recovery of a stolen all-terrain vehicle.

The man was later released, and is scheduled to appear in Campbellton Provincial Court at a later date.
