Maskwacis RCMP issue arrest warrant for attempted murder

On Jan. 8, 2023, Maskwacis RCMP responded to a call for service on the Louis Bull Tribe First Nation, Alta., where a male was reported to have sustained serious injuries. The victim was taken to hospital in serious life-threatening condition but has since recovered.

As the investigation unfolded, police were able to identify a suspect, and RCMP have issued a warrant for his arrest. RCMP are requesting the publics' assistance in locating 29-year-old Jared Chad Roasting a resident of the Maskwacis area. The warrant that has been issued for Roasting has the following charges:

  • Attempted murder
  • Aggravated assault
  • Pointing a firearm
  • Weapons possession contrary to order and fail to surrender authorization x2
  • Discharge air gun or air pistol with intent to endanger life

Roasting is described as:

  • Medium complexion
  • 5 feet 7 inches tall
  • 125 pounds
  • Brown hair
  • Brown eyes

Roasting is known to frequent the area of Maskwacis, but also the city of Wetaskiwin, Alta. and City of Edmonton.
