Update: On November 7, 2024, Wyatt Delong appeared in Woodstock Provincial Court and was sentenced to seven years in federal prison. He will serve five years and 26 days after receiving a remand credit of 704 days, and will be prohibited from possessing firearms for 15 years upon his release.
Additional charges have been laid against a 28-year-old man in connection with a series of incidents in the Western region of New Brunswick.
On July 23, police received information that two individuals that they were searching for in connection with a series of incidents in the Western region of the province, were in the Grand Falls area.
Police attended a residence on Court Street in connection with the investigation. At approximately 5 p.m., a 28-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman were arrested at the scene. A 32-year-old woman was also arrested at the scene on unrelated matters.
On July 24, Wyatt Delong appeared in Woodstock Provincial Court and was charged with breach of probation. Janice Buchanan also appeared in court and was charged with robbery. They were both remanded into custody, and were scheduled to return to court on July 27.
On July 27, Wyatt Delong returned to Woodstock Provincial Court and was charged with:
- Discharging a firearm with intent
- Flight from a police officer
- Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle
- Failure to comply with a probation order.
He was remanded into custody, and his next court appearance is scheduled for July 31, in Fredericton.
