A male and a female uniformed RCMP officer stand in front of two all-terrain vehicles, each holding a helmet under their arms. Behind them is a large green sign that reads 'Royal Canadian Mounted Police'.

Harbour Breton RCMP will be hosting a series of information sessions in partnership with local schools to educate youth on recent changes to the Off-Road Vehicles Act. Officers will discuss the requirements for safe operation and enjoyment of off-road vehicles.

In addition, residents of the area can expect to see an increased police presence on trails and within the community, with a focus on educating riders and ensuring compliance with all regulations.

RCMP NL recognizes that many Newfoundlanders and Labradorians enjoy all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) in our great outdoors but reminds operators that this activity needs to be done in accordance with the legislation and with safety in mind.

RCMP NL encourages the use of all mandatory safety equipment, including helmets and seat belts. And please, do not operate an ATV while impaired. Park before you pour!
