A 56-year-old man is deceased following a collision between a car and an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) on Route 210 last night.

At approximately 7:30pm on October 12, 2022, Clarenville RCMP responded to a report of a collision on the Burin Peninsula Highway, near North Harbour. The ATV was driving on the shoulder of the road and reportedly veered into traffic to avoid hitting a moose. The ATV then collided with the oncoming car. The ATV operator was pronounced dead at the scene. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. Neither speed nor alcohol are believed to have been factors in the collision.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner and a Traffic Analyst have been engaged and the investigation is continuing.
