Man wanted on several charges in Sanikiluaq

Sanikiluaq RCMP have obtained a warrant for the arrest of a man who has been charged with several offences.

At approximately 2:00 a.m. on February 20th, 2021, the Sanikiluaq RCMP responded to a complaint that a male had breached court orders by entering a home. Once inside the home, the male assaulted a female resident and stole several items before fleeing.

30-year-old Tony APPAQAQ, of Sanikiluaq has been charged with:

  • Break and Enter Sec 348CC
  • Assault Causing Bodily Harm – Choking Sec 267(c)CC
  • Theft Under $5000 Sec 334CC
  • Fail to comply with a Release Order Sec 145(5)CC X 3

APPAQAQ is believed to still be in Sanikiluaq. APPAQAQ is an Inuit male, 5'7" and 150 lbs with short black hair and brown eyes. Members of the public are asked not to approach APPAQAQ if he is located, and to call police. Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Tony APPAQAQ, is asked to contact the RCMP at 867-266-1111 or to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477. You can also text a tip to Crime Stoppers.
