Cold Lake RCMP arrests following flight from police leads to drug seizure

On June 20, 2021 in the early morning hours, Cold Lake RCMP seized a significant amount of cocaine and methamphetamine following a vehicle stop where the driver initially failed to stop for police. The approximate combined value of the illicit drugs is significant.

A 32-year-old male from Cold Lake and an 18-year-old female from Frog Lake, Alta. have been charged with the following:

  • Trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine)
  • Trafficking in a controlled substance (cocaine)
  • Dangerous operation of motor vehicle
  • Flight from police
  • Resisting arrest

Following judicial hearings, the 32-year-old male was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in Cold Lake Provincial Court on June 23, 2021, and the 18-year-old female was released on conditions and is scheduled to appear in Cold Lake Provincial court on July 14, 2021.

As this matter is now before the courts, no further details will be released.
