On April 17, 2020, Didsbury RCMP entered into an investigation after receiving an anonymous tip from the public. Following an investigation, Didsbury RCMP obtained a search warrant for a residence located in Mountain View County, Alta., near Bergthal, Alta.

On April 23, 2020, Didsbury RCMP, with support of the Southern Alberta District Crime Reduction Unit, RCMP Clandestine Lab Enforcement and Response Team, Didsbury Fire Department and Didsbury Emergency Medical Services, executed a warrant on the residence located in Mountain View County near Bergthal, Alta. The search resulted in the following being seized as evidence: drug and drug production paraphernalia and approximately 80 bags of psilocybin (also known as magic mushrooms) at various stages of growth.

A 27-year-old male and a 29-year-old male both from Calgary have been released from custody to appear in Didsbury court on August 17, 2020 to face drug offences.

The Didsbury RCMP would like to thank the tipster for the anonymous information that led to the success of this criminal investigation.
