[RCMP Commissioner Brenda Lucki sits at a table in front of a wall in her home, addressing employees. When she begins speaking, there is a strip of text at the bottom of the video saying "Brenda Lucki, RCMP Commissioner"]
Hi everyone!
I just wanted to check-in with you during these unprecedented times.
First: I know not all of us can work from home, but those who can, should.
We all need to do our part to plank the curve, and limit the spread of the coronavirus.
On that note, I'm so proud of your flexibility and dedication you've shown.
It's been a tough few weeks. We've all had to adjust to new ways of getting things done.
Thank you for all your hard work.
Now more than ever, we need to look after ourselves and each other.
If you're sick or required to self-isolate and can't telework, talk to your manger. We have a leave code for this.
Remember to take time for self-care. Be active and take a walk, but keep a safe social distance.
These weeks ahead will be challenging, but we can get through this—together.
Check in with co-workers, call the Employee Emergency Information Line, and reach out to Employee Assistance Services if you need to.
I'll continue to update you with the latest information. Check your email and the Infoweb, the new employee information page at RCMP.ca, and Canada.ca/coronavirus, daily.
Please be kind to yourself and each other. A little kindness can go a long way in these uncertain times.
Keep up the great work, stay safe and above all, stay well.
