2018 Gender and Harassment Advisory Committee Annual Report - New Brunswick (J Division)
Background
The J Division Gender and Harassment Advisory Committee had its first meeting on January 24, 2018 at J Division HQ. Given that this was the committee's first meeting, some committee members felt they require more time before bringing recommendations forward to the group.
However, one issue identified is the lack of clarity and support communication to the membership, specifically relating to the Peer to Peer Program.
As discussed at the meeting, some gender and harassment issues have been shared with peer to peer coordinators who are uncertain on how to advise the employee seeking assistance.
Current status
CO's office to follow up with EMRO to provide an update on the current status of the Peer to Peer Program in J Division.
Next steps
J Division is recommending a better communication strategy in relation to the roles and responsibilities of the peer to peer coordinators and program mandate.
